How Catalysts Work: a nanoscale phenomenon

Subject
Chemistry
Physical Science
Education Level
High School
This lesson helps students understand how catalysts work on the nanoscale. Students will learn that catalysts are more efficient when they are on the nanoscale. This is a great way to introduce or review reactants, catalysts, and adsorption, desorption, and diffusion. This lesson is best done after using the the Surface Area-to-Volume Ratio of Nanoparticles lab which can be found on the NNCI website (https://www.nnci.net/node/5328)
